Good 10 mile training with Sue today!

Welcome drink after 1/2 h run
Beaufiful countryside
Here we come!

We need another drink!

Still going strong

Another 2 kilometres to go

See you soon!

Pretty village of Eccleston: we're done for today!

Today was the first of three longer training runs on the Chester 1/2 marathon course. I was a glorious and sunny morning and we set off about 11am at County Hall. This is also where the race will start. From there it was up the hill to Handbridge and the long Eaton Road to the picturesque village of Eccleston. Dave, my husband, stood along the course with the car and some refreshing drinks. They were very welcome as it started to get quite warm for running the last couple of miles. We stopped twice for a quick drink and let my Garmin run the first time. The course is certainly not flat but luckily the hills are not as bad as the Helsby course.

Today's run went very well, only started struggling during the last 2 kilometres but that's understandable. We ran quite a good pace for a training session and the longest run for me so far, for quite a while has been 10km. To do today's 16km (10miles) in 1h25'40" is a positive sign and hopefully the next one on Monday 27th April will be as pleasant.
Only problem I have again is: blisters! Hopefully they will go soon and all will be well for the further training sessions.
7 or 8km recovery run tomorrow with another run on Wednesday and Friday. After that, two day's off and another big one on Monday 27th.
Ciao Nathalie

Well done. Was sunny here this morning when we left in the car but cloudy and cool when we arrived at the Start of the Whitley 10K near Warringtom. My feet were bleeding when I finished but got a PB of just under 50 minutes. Confess only one training session in the week of 6 miles. Must do better
